Welcome to Tradewind on the Isle of Wight.
This self catering bungalow is set in a secluded part of the Island with easy access to local amenties and the beach at Freshwater Bay. The bungalow is well presented and easily accommodates 5 people for a comfortable relaxing holiday. Tradewind is ideally situated for walking and cycling holidays on the Island with good access to the footpath network. Secure storage is available for bicycles including access to power for charging electric bicycles.
A new addition to Tradewind in October 2019 is an electric vehicle charging point. This is a non tethered universal Type 2 socket compatible with mainstream vehicles. There is no additional charge for use of the charging point.

Tradewind has free WiFi access, smart TV, DVD player, a selection of books, Xbox One games console and board games, a well equipped kitchen with dining table, and comfortable lounge with a gas fire for cosy winter evenings.
The conservatory, overlooking the rear garden, provides a family dining space, comfy seating and a television with FreeSat channels. Heating is provided to allow all year round use.
The bungalow has 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a king size (5 foot) bed, with built in wardrobes. A television with Freeview Channels, hairdryer, safe and clock radio alarm are also available for guests to use
Bedroom 2 is a twin room overlooking the front of the property the with built in wardrobes, hairdryer and radio alarm clock.
This bedroom can also be prepared with a cot, this requires the removal of 1 single bed
Bedroom 3 is a single room with a freestanding wardrobe and bedside chest of drawers. A hairdryer and radio alarm clock are also available.
Additionally there is a bathroom with bath, toilet and separate walk in shower, a separate toilet and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
In the secluded rear garden there is a summer house, patio with furniture and barbeque for outside dining and relaxing in the sun. The garden has well tended lawns with a flowering cherry tree and low growing apple tree.
The front garden has a sweeping driveway with ample parking, the garden planted with Acers and Mediterranean plants, seating and a picnic table. The garden overlooks the neighbouring field which is a haven for birds and wildlife including Red Squirrels.
Presented as a holiday home for the first time in 2019, we have sympathetically modernised and updated Tradewind to provide a stylish and comfortable place to stay.
The bungalow is very well presented, clean and fresh. Tradewind has gas central heating and cooking, with a gas log burner effect fire in the lounge. All gas and electricity are included, as is bed linen and towels. The lounge area has two comfortable leather sofas, a large screen Smart TV, DAB Radio/CD player, Xbox One, games and books. Smoking is not permitted in the property. Pets are not permitted with the exception of guide dogs. Additionally is a TV in the conservatory, the double bedroom and the kitchen.
The beds are all metal frame beds with good quality mattresses, the double room has a king size (5ft) bed and the other beds are all standard single beds. Additional blankets and pillows are available on request from the owners. A cot and highchair can be provided if requested in advance, if the cot is requested 1 single bed will be removed and it will be agreed with the guests which bed the cot will replace.
You will have access to the whole bungalow excluding the garage, there is plenty of parking on the driveway. There is secure dry storage for bicycles, including 2 electric sockets for charging electric bicycles, which is accessed behind the garage.
We will meet you on arrival to hand over the keys, arrange to collect the keys from you on departure and be contactable by telephone if needed. Due to COVID-19 appropriate social distancing will be in place and the keys will be cleaned for guests prior to handover. Cleaning is in line with industry standard recommendations for COVID-19
All bed linen and towels are included in the hire price but please bring your own beach towels.
What to do in West Wight
Nearby attractions include the Needles Pleasure Park at Alum Bay with the coloured sands and chairlift, Freshwater Golf Course, Dimbola Lodge and photographic museum, and Farringford House the former home of Alfred Lord Tennyson. Other local activities include horse riding, water sports, walking alpacas, fossil hunting and access to extensive walking and cycling opportunities. Afton Down and Tennyson Down are among the most popular and spectacular walks
Freshwater village centre is a short walk away with shops and eating places including the Red Lion, a favourite eating place for visitors. Yarmouth is a historic town, with a Tudor castle with the ferry from Lymington arriving here, you will find a range of local shops and eating places. Travelling further afield you will find the magic of Osborne House (Queen Victoria’s former home) located in East Cowes, Blackgang Chine at the southern tip of the Island near Chale, Carisbrooke Castle on the outskirts of Newport and many other Isle of Wight attractions
Tradewind is approximately 4km from Yarmouth vehicle/passenger ferry terminal from where taxis are usually available, and is 300m from the nearest bus stop. Vehicular access to the property is good. The bungalow is located in a quiet single track road.
